Business and Strategy Manager for global network of container cross docks and site logistics locations

Used 6 Sigma methodologies to recruit, train, and lead project team members in 6 Sigma and Caterpillar Production System methodologies to improve critical operational and transactional business processes that drive financial results. Provided leadership for continuous improvements in quality, velocity, and cost to better meet customer expectations. Also led Rapid Improvement Workshops (Kaizen events) focused on initiating improvements in short time frames.

Led team in partnership with Caterpillar manufacturing and logistics facilities, Global Purchasing, Global Information Services (GIS)/Trading Partner Services (TPS) and Corporate Accounts Payable to help overcome difficulties in managing vendor Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions by centralizing functional support for EDI conformance and accuracy content, and assist vendors in transitioning to new Caterpillar system platforms. Responsibilities included providing support to the Caterpillar Americas, European, Africa and Middle East (EAME), and Asia Pacific (AP) theaters of operation, managing and maintaining standard purchasing and receiving transactions for the facilities transitioning from legacy systems to the newly deployed systems (SAP®) ensuring electronic business continuity between the vendors and manufacturing facilities.

Responsible for developing partnerships with 405 government units in fourteen counties in Central Illinois. Independently developed and implemented plan following goals and objectives, overall strategies, and major activities provided by headquarters staff while adhering to budget allocations.

Taught Calculus as part of a selectively staffed US Air Force Academy faculty responsible for educating and motivating cadets to be career officers. Promoted technical and problem-solving skills, evaluated cadets’ suitability for commissioning, and counseled cadets on academic and military performance.

Air Force’s trusted agent to analyze information and present responses to officer promotion inquiries from Congress, senior Pentagon officials, and general officers. Personally presented analysis for each officer promotion board to the Air Force Personnel Commander and the Air Force Director of Personnel and served as expert for presentations up through the Secretary of the Air Force.
