She brings leadership experience across strategic planning, recruiting, marketing, public relations, and communication – along with valued relationships throughout the business community. Following a successful career in the media industry, managing marketing and promotion of daytime programs and special events at ABC, she joined the Emma L. Bowen Foundation, managing national recruitment and development of minority students to create opportunities and expand diversity within the media and tech industries. Today, she serves as Senior Vice President, Outreach and Strategic Partnerships for Coqual, a nonprofit think tank based in New York City. As the engagement leader, she cultivates relationships with DEI Officers from more than 100 global organizations (mostly Fortune 500) helping to map out solutions to challenges in the workplace.Currently, Sandra serves on the Board of Directors for Union County College Foundation in Cranford, NJ, and the Center for Great Expectations in Somerville, NJ. She is a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, an Associate Member of Jack and Jill of America, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA). A former ALA Girls Nation Senator, Sandra is a member of the ALA California Girls State Alumni Foundation. Sandra served two terms as National President of the Alliance for Women in Media and is founding member of the organization’s Annual Gracie Awards. Sandra also sits on the National Advisory Boards of Givewith and The Leadership Academy.Sandra earned her Master of Science in Media Studies from The New School in New York City and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Radio and Television from San Jose State University in California. She was selected to attend the executive program at Simmons School of Management in Boston, MA, and served on its Alumni Board.She has received numerous awards and commendations, including the McDonald’s Black Media Legends & Trailblazers Award, Tri-State Diversity Council’s Multicultural Leadership Award, Minority in Media Telecommunications Council’s Everett C. Parker Award, Union County College Foundation Close the Gap Award, the NCBW Bergen Passaic Chapter Empowerment Award and the American Women in Radio and Television Achievement Award.
