A 37-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Sandra Goeken Miles currently serves as President of the Goeken Group Corp whose wholly owned subsidiary is PolyBrite International. PolyBrite is the developer of advanced technologies bringing LED lighting into the general illumination field since 1995. Throughout her career, Ms. Goeken Miles crossed cultural barriers to provide air-to-ground telecommunications services to foreign countries. As the past chairman and CEO of In-Flight Phone International, and President of Airfone, Inc., Sandra helped pioneer the air-to-ground industry.To expand globally, she set up international corporations in Canada, South America, Europe, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Russia, China, Australia, Thailand and Indonesia and served on the boards of these corporations. In Canada a public company was acquired through a reverse takeover on the Ottawa Exchange which then was moved on to the Toronto Exchange.In 1992, President George H. W. Bush appointed Ms. Goeken Miles to the Federal Communication Commission’s Small Business Advisory Committee, where she was elected Chair of the New Technology subcommittee. Sandra has served as an adjunct professor at Southern Illinois University (SIU) who chose her as the Chicago Business Leader of the Year in 1993 and in 1995 presented Ms. Goeken Miles with an honorary doctorate degree of Commercial Science. In 1996, the University of Illinois at Chicago inducted Ms. Goeken Miles into the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame and in 1992, the University of St. Francis presented her with an Honorary Bachelor of Commercial Sciences Degree. She has served on the Board of Rush Copley Hospital, Success Magazine, Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), DuPage Children’s Museum, Joliet Junior College, University of St. Francis and Clean Energy Trust.
