The Advancement Council serves as ambassadors and supports the Georgia State University College of Education by strengthening ties with alumni, cultivating potential donors, hosting events and contributing to the college. The Council serves as an externally focused, consultative body to the Dean.

Initially sponsored by TAG's Women in Technology (WIT), BiblioBabes was conceived and launched while I was serving as a member of the WIT Board of Directors. The book club grew out of my love of reading and a desire to bring women together to share experiences. Knowing that professional women often struggle to find time to read (or focus on their own growth), it was important to make BiblioBabes easy to participate with. Participants do not have to be members of WIT or TAG and the meetings are open to all women. Atypical of other book clubs, attendees are not required to read the book! A discussion leader ensures that the book concepts and learnings are communicated. Selections focus on business books of relevance to professional women. Meetings are held 3 to 5:30 PM the third Sunday of each month and typically start with networking and refreshments followed by discussion.

My AAA affiliation began with serving on the AAA Auto Club South Board of Directors and at the conclusion of my term there, I joined the Georgia Advisory Board. Tampa-based AAA Auto Club South and Dearborn, Michigan-based, The Auto Club Group, have affiliated and combined operations effective October 1, 2011 to become the second largest AAA club in North America. The enterprise will be known as The Auto Club Group and serve members, insureds, and other customers across 11 states and two U.S. territories, including Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands; most of Illinois, Minnesota and Tennessee; and a portion of Indiana.The combined organization will provide membership, travel, insurance, and financial services offerings to more than 8.4 million members through a network of nearly 8,000 employees in approximately 300 office locations.
