Communications And Content Manager
Location: Wakehurst, Ardingly, West Sussex
I led on all PR activities at Wakehurst. I provided strategic input and technical expertise ensuring the mission and tone of voice of Kew Gardens was seen and heard, locally and nationally.A key part of my role was planning, implementing and evaluating audience focused media campaigns. These were designed to increase awareness of Kew's wild botanic garden, the work of scientists at the Millenium Seed Bank. I provided PR for the yearly programme of events and festivals. The objective was to attract new visitors, engage regular 'friends' with the goal of attracting donations and legacy gifts.I also wrote the stories of some of our wonderful volunteers to encourage more help across the gardens and in the seed bank. While at Wakehurst I was part of the team that Increased day visits by +13% and ticketed event visits by +47%. We boosted sales of Glow Wild tickets, Wakehurst's winter lantern trail, by +35%.As part of my role I acted as content-hub for Wakehurst. I wrote features, visitor guides, blogs and newsletters, facilitated all photography and filming and ensured Wakehurst's web presence was current, compelling and informative. I provided and scheduled engaging content for social media platforms.I am experienced with crisis communications, stakeholder management and writing award submissions.
