About Sandra Hunter

Hi, I'm Sandra Hunter, a passionate advocate for cross-generational collaboration and mentorship, dedicated to empowering women of color on their journey to success. With over 19 years as an English and Creative Writing Professor, my personal experience has shaped my mission to create positive change in the workplace. After years of experiencing racial and gender bias I decided to make a career pivot and founded empowerHER to address the workplace challenges faced by women of color. My firsthand experiences, along with witnessing the struggles of colleagues and students, inspired me to establish The Stealth Auntie Network—a platform that connects professional women as mentors with young women entering their careers. My journey began in 2012 when I became the Program Director for Intergenerational Initiatives, introducing cross-generational mentorship strategies to my college students. By collaborating with kindergarteners, middle and high school students, my students gained profound insights into the power of intergenerational connections. This pivotal moment led to the creation of The Stealth Auntie Network, kindling a passion to guide and empower the next generation of leaders. In 2022, I launched Wild Women Leaders of Color, now empowerHER, and The Stealth Auntie Network, offering a comprehensive approach to professional development. Through story-healing techniques, I help women center themselves and unlock their full potential. They can then work with the incoming generation of young women to help them center in their self-worth and achieve remarkable career success. My ultimate vision is to equip the upcoming generations with the tools needed to combat racism and gender bias, creating a more inclusive and equitable society.Beyond my advocacy work, I'm an award-winning published author, having written 3 books—LOSING TOUCH, SMALL CHANGE, and TRIP WIRES that shine a light on social injustice and amplify the voices of young women.empowerHER is a catalyst for transformation, bridging generational gaps and empowering women to find their voice, and achieve extraordinary success. Join me in the pursuit of collaboration, mentorship, and personal growth to shape a future that is diverse, inclusive, and equitable. To find out more my coaching, public speaking or programs:https://calendly.com/talk-with-sandra/life-coachingBookings for public speaking: sandra@empowerhertorise.comContact: sandra@empowerhertorise.com

I facilitate empowering initiatives exclusively for professional women, aiming to support their personal and professional development. These transformative programs are dedicated to creating a secure and supportive environment where women can explore their fullest potential. Through personalized coaching and group sessions, I help women to release workplace-induced stress through somatic techniques. Additionally, my programs use the power of storytelling to nurture a deep sense of self-value within each participant. Through my Stealth Auntie Network, professional women are then introduced to upcoming young professional women in mentorship roles so they, in turn, can learn how to navigate, control, and minimize these same stressors. This provides the next gen with a successful upward career trajectory and minimizes the impact of workplace biases.
