During my PhD I studied Assemblies of Polyoxometalates, which are large inorganic molecules of several nanometers in size. When put into solution they spontaneously form larger assemblies. I studied the formation and behavior of these assemblies. I mostly did practical work with a focus on scattering measurements. The outcome of these measurements were then compared to known theories from scientific literature and new theories. Part of my PhD I also supervised students in several research projects and organized a Masterclass on Colloids for high-school students.
