I founded Everyday Feminism, an online platform for people facing everyday violence, discrimination, and marginalization due to their gender, sexual orientation, race, class, size, ability, or other social differences. We help people apply feminism to their real lives in order to work through issues, stand up for themselves, find their own truth, and take collective action.As of August 2014, I've led Everyday Feminism to:- Provide an online magazine, online courses, and speakers bureau.- Develop a base of over 1.5 million visitors per month to our site and over 190,000 Facebook fans.- Lead a paid team of core staff and almost 30 writers - Develop a sustainable earned revenue model by selling online courses and ads- Offer course scholarships so that no one is turned away due to money.I also created and lead the online course, Everyday Self-Love: Turning Self-Love Into A Daily Habit, at Everyday Feminism. This online course is designed to help you free yourself from society’s toxic messages and create a sustainable daily practice of self-love. This course helps people:- Be resilient to toxic messages within yourself and from others.- Honor and communicate your needs and wants.- Accept their internal experiences as they simply are with compassion and not judgement.- Find validation within themselves and prioritize their own truth.I also created and lead the online course, The Relationship Course: Turning Love Into a Daily Practice, at Everyday Feminism. This online course is designed to help you free yourself from past baggage and learn the skills and habits to build a healthy, thriving, and inspiring relationship. This course helps people:- Accept each other as you are, while believing in each other’s ability to grow- Unpack your baggage, biases, and internalized messages around relationships- Communicate your feelings and desires and invite your partner to support them- Turn conflicts into opportunities for deeper connection and growth

I'm the board member of the incredibly innovative organization - Brown Boi Project. It's a community of masculine of center womyn, men, two-spirit people, transmen, and our allies committed to transforming our privilege of masculinity, gender, and race into tools for achieving racial and gender justice. BBP's approach to gender transformative learning builds an environment where mental health resources are de-stigmatized, new models for masculinity emerge, and boys of color are able to develop an empowering sense of self and also reduce the levels of aggression and sexual pressure exerted on girls and the kind of gender policing that perpetuates violence against LGBT youth of color.

MAG is a nonprofit consulting organization strengthening visionary social justice organizations, leaders, and networks to create a more just world.As the Consulting Associate and then later the Manager of Institutional Development, I:- Restructured and created an integrated, time and cost-efficient system of finances, administration, technology, and operations, resulting in $150,000+ in annual savings.- Led MAG's transition from a bricks and mortar office to a virtual one with staff working from their homes. - Supervised the administrative assistant and finance coordinator. - Managed the marketing of services and publications, including writing for and coordinating MAG’s e-newsletter. - Managed foundation grants and individual donations.- Handled preparations for board meetings and staff meetings.- Worked with Senior Consultants to strengthen progressive advocacy groups.

Ashoka is the largest network of social entrepreneurs worldwide, with nearly 3,000 Ashoka Fellows in 70 countries putting their system changing ideas into practice on a global scale. As the Senior Venture Associate at Ashoka-USA, I:- Worked with leading social entrepreneurs who were candidates for the Ashoka Fellowship by identifying, vetting, and supporting them through the Ashoka venture process. - Updated Ashoka Fellows selection process to be more streamlined and systematic for the staff. - Designed Ashoka-US website to raise visibility, support Fellow selection process, and promote Fellows. - Led transition to Salesforce database and provided training to multiple offices in different countries.

Polaris Project is a leading organization in the global fight against human trafficking and modern-day slavery. Client Services in the DC Office conducts direct victim outreach and provides case management services and transitional housing to survivors of human trafficking. Hired as a consultant to be the Client Services Advisor, I:- Provided oversight to Client Services during a programmatic and staff transition period. - Facilitated the creation of a pilot program of scatter-site model for transitional housing. - Evaluated and updated data tracking system for service provision. - Created training materials and updated protocols and procedures on service delivery, direct victims outreach, information management, security, and liabilities.

Polaris Project is a leading organization in the global fight against human trafficking and modern-day slavery. As the Case Manager in the DC Office, I:- Conducted direct victim outreach and provided comprehensive case management services to human trafficking survivors, particularly to American women and children under pimp control, Korean women in massage parlors, and Latinas in residential brothels. - Designed and launched a transitional housing program for all types of human trafficking victims. - Provided training and wrote training materials on human trafficking and service provision to community partners and staff. - Created and maintained data tracking system of clients, services, and expenses based on review of internal performance measurements and grant requirements.- Prepared monthly financial and programmatic reports for federal contractor and assisted with quarterly local government grant-reporting and writing.- Interviewed by Spanish-speaking media on human trafficking in Washington, DC.
