I am a communications guru with my hands in a wide berth of projects. A seeming jack of all trades and master of several, I have done everything from composition and copyediting to designing flyers and branding! I love it all. Writing and editing is where I shine brightest, while creating PowerPoints and promotional materials really allows me to tap into my artistic side. With bachelor’s degrees in journalism and biology and more than 10 years’ experience in freelance writing/editing and communications internships, I have a strong work ethic and proven track record of creating high-quality materials. In fact, my work has been featured on the covers of Aesculapian, Student Health 101, and Molecular Biology of the Cell. Reflecting that biology degree I mentioned, I have a particular passion for health-focused communications. I’ve also done everything from blogging and presenting research posters to teaching classes in anatomy labs and martial arts. (I hold black belts in two styles.)When not taking care of myself walking down dark alleys at night, I may be seen painting acrylics and watercolors and photographing every beautiful flower by which I pass. It’s not all nature and macro for me, though: I am adept at visual storytelling, and in my previous position as a communications specialist with the Atlanta City Council, I honed my “people photography” skills shooting and editing numerous council presentations and events. I also have experience editing video and audio as well as designing flyers and infographics.I am currently open to new opportunities wherein I may best utilize my skills, talents, and interests in a collaborative, team-focused environment. If this sounds like you, please reach out! You may contact me at (770) 870-0880 or sandralmcgill@gmail.com.
