Sandra Marco Colino is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is the Deputy Executive Director of the Centre for Financial Regulation and Economic Development (CFRED), the Director of the Competition Law Summer Schools for Asian officials at the College of Europe in Bruges, and a member of the Academic Board of Dictum law firm. Prior to moving to Hong Kong she was a Lecturer in EU and Competition Law at the University of Glasgow. A qualified lawyer in Spain, her main teaching and research interests lie in the fields of competition law, merger control, law and economics, tort, commercial law, business law and EU law. In 2007 she was awarded a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence. She holds an LLM from the University Carlos III of Madrid, and obtained her first degree in law at the University San Pablo CEU. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Law from the same university. During her studies, she specialised in competition law and economics, and studied for a year at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz.She has trained at the European Commission in Brussels and the law firm Miguel Cid and Associates. She been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Birmingham and Melbourne Law School. She is a member of the Competition Law Scholars Forum, a Fellow of the Transatlantic Technology Law Forum of Stanford University and an Associate Researcher at the Institute of European Studies in Madrid. As the founder and director of the Communications Policy and Regulation Scholars Forum, she regularly organises events in this area. She is the Hong Kong news correspondent for the European Competition Law Review (ECLR), and was co-Managing Editor of the China Antitrust Law Journal until 2018. She was also the Deputy Director of the European Union Academic Programme in Hong Kong (EUAP) from 2013 until its conclusion in 2017, and acted as Non-Governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network between 2015 and 2018.Her recognitions include an Academic Excellence Award (Global Competition Review, 2020), an Award for High-Impact in Legal Scholarship (CUHK, 2020), an Antitrust Writing Award (Concurrences, 2018), a Teaching Excellence Award (CUHK, 2017) and the Best Paper and Presentation Award (Georgetown University, 2004). She is currently nominated for an Antitrust Compliance Award (Concurrences, 2021).
