I am an Army veteran who, after discharging, began working for Correction Corporation of America, CCA (formerly and now known again as the Tulsa County Sheriffs Office) where I spent the last three years of employment there as an Addiction Treatment Counselor. It was during those three years when the Lord placed a vision in my spirit to create a program concept that transforms challenging mindsets. In a transitional living environment, individuals will partake in an innovative approach to rebuilding broken lives collectively. Spending the next 16 years managing assets and people for low-income housing agencies, I have gained an understanding as to why certain challenges exist and how certain barriers meant to help, has only hurt an already burdened and weakened system. It is these same systems that created trauma and caused more trauma, that refuse to acknowledge their hand in something so deeply rooted. My organization, Nehemiah Mission, seeks likeminded individuals, businesses, organizations, and partners who selflessly agree to take responsibility for the wrong and who are willing to work together for the betterment of humanity. By volunteering, sponsoring, and donating time, material, and money, we are collectively ready and willing to be the change in our community and beyond.
