I am curious about novel histone modifications and their impact on chromatin structure and its function. Deciphering the interplay between metabolism and the epigenome at the lab of Robert Schneider.

During my master's thesis, I studied the repression of HIV co-receptors by novel TALE-based epigenome modifiers in the lab of Claudio Mussolino at the Institute for Transfusion Medicine and Gene Therapy. I enjoyed being exposed to clinical needs and challenges as well as being involved in such a pioneering project. I supervised a Bachelor student who joined the project and was glad to share my experiences.

Helped to generate novel leukemia-specific oncofusion proteins based on the oncogene AML1/RUNX1 in the lab of Michael Lübbert.

Epigenetic study on the effect of overexpressed Y chromosome spermatogenesis genes during mice embryogenesis in the lab of Daniel Messerschmidt at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology.

Examined the impact of cryopreservation on histone modifications of mesenchymal stem cells derived from common marmoset in the lab of Nicola Hofmann at the Institute of Multiphase Processes.
