My professional pursuits, have afforded me the opportunity to offer a conduit of services that are interconnected in the human service field. It is my profound belief that our strengths and greatest accomplishments are acquired with intentionality, integrous and transparent work ethics, and skilled and tactful communication for a collaborative and effective outcome. Since I've been in the Human Service field, I've delivered research-based programming and instruction and created modified trainings specific to population needs. Focused on client-centered care, I've formulated treatment plans utilizing evidence based practices such as CBT, DBT, Matrix models, REBT, and Motivational Interviewing as treatment approaches and modalities. Additionally, I incorporate holistic practices to achieve focus and self-awareness including guided meditation and Primordial Sound Meditation for overall centeredness and well-being. To compliment my work in the human service field, my additional languages, culture and cultural awareness are unique due to my exposure in providing services at the local, domestic and international level. I am fluently skilled in both verbal and written correspondence in Spanish and Creole. Personal and professional practices relative to my experience in the linguistic spectrum include the interpretation and translation of dialogue and documentation in multiple social, private and public service areas as a means of exacting communication. Interpretation and translation practices include styles such as consecutive, simultaneous, site and relay interpretation. These practices create greater alliances, transparency, effectively and function as an approach to cultural sensitivity and accuracy. My approach is especially geared toward language appropriateness in identifying substance use and mental health disorders. Attesting to my character as it correlates to performance, I am frequently guided by focusing on my own self-inventory in an effort to remain approachable, create a basis of trust, as well as incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion into practice. Communication has been an integral and essential component to progressive outcomes for the populations I’ve served. Finally, as a matter of ethics and integrity, my license and certifications are governed by and mandates bound to HIPPA, Confidentiality and Privacy Practices.
