Consulting on urban freight, transportation resilience and sustainability through the lens of international shipping, solid waste transport, urban planning and the intersection of these areas with technology and policy. Support clients through research, master planning, site visits, surveys, bid proposals and general advising services. Current projects include the Sustainable Last-Mile Delivery in Dense Metros, a Department of Energy sponsored pilot to deploy and demonstrate sustainable methods of maritime middle-mile transportation paired with last-mile delivery using heavy duty electric cargo bikes.Some examples of past projects:Environmental Defense Fund, “Report on Urban Freight Partnerships: Why they’re needed and how to ensure their success”, Europe Office: Author of report and template compendium.EIT Urban Mobility, FlexCurb, Europe (European Commission sponsored project):Freight advisor, guided researchers on the development of an app to assist delivery drivers when trying to identify available parking for loading/unloading as well as platform that digitizes the curb. Served as lead consultant for last mile delivery planning for Sidewalk Labs, an Alphabet company that brings together urbanists and technologists to explore ideas for improving urban life. Responsible for integrating innovative freight infrastructure and technology into the Sidewalk Toronto project https://www.sidewalktoronto.ca/.

Created a new division focused specifically on supply chain logistics. Managed staff and their programs which covered response and recovery of critical supply chains before, during and after an emergency. Team included:*Ground Support Program Manager: manages the Citywide Emergency Fueling Operations Plan, Fueling Task Force, Generator and Dewatering Plan and Protocol, Credentialing Verification and Access Control Plan and more.*Logistics Technology Program Manager: is responsible for the Citywide Asset and Logistics Management System (CALMS) suite of databases, NYCTracker GPS Equipment Tracking and Inventory Management System.*Logistics Center Program Manager: the Logistics Center (LC) is home to all resource requests from NYC agencies and operations during an emergency. When activated, it houses procurement staff, logistics staff, incident management teams from outside the city, and NYCEM task forces. This program manger is responsible for the development of the LC and all related plans including Donations Management and Mutual Aid.*Logistics Staging Areas and Operational Sites Program Manager: responsible for developing plans with public and private site owners for Logistics Staging Areas and other operational sites. Deconflicts sites between other City agencies and the private sector.Served as the agency's liaison to the NY National Guard and oversaw a National Guard Major who sat within the unit. Managed the NYCEM role in the Supply Chain Regional Resiliency Assessment Program (RRAP) currently run by the Department of Homeland Security Critical Infrastructure Division. This study will assist NYCEM and other public and private sector stakeholders within the supply chain industry have a better understanding of available critical infrastructure that can be used to assist in the movement of critical commodities during a disaster.

Managed the Supply Chain, Ground Support and Technology Group within the Logistics Unit.

Developed, managed and deployed logistics plans related to transportation and organization of supplies and equipment during disasters through collaboration with other City agencies:-Managed the NYCTracker GPS program to geolocate heavy equipment used by the City in emergency response and recovery. Served as liaison between OEM and other City agencies and technical vendors. Responsibilities included developing the program from start to finish via procurement, contract development, pilot testing design and execution, and expansion all within a 16 month deadline.-Managed the NYCTracker Inventory Management System to improve daily operations at the OEM warehouse and develop a process to inventory supplies and equipment staged and deployed in the field during emergency response and recovery. Acted as lead agency liaison to vendor. Responsibilities included creating and executing the program through research, budgeting, RFP development and implementation of the system within a limited time frame.-Served as the agency's lead on various freight projects including the City's Supply Chain Disruption Plan to coordinate redundant freight planning for commodity distribution and the Logistics Center Emergency Truck Routing Protocol for support to private sector trucking companies transporting emergency supplies and equipment throughout the City.-Served as coordinator for the Logistics/Administration/Finance working group for the OEM Emergency Operations Center. Lead monthly meetings and develop trainings focused on improving these Emergency Support Functions.-Developed additional supplemental guides and tools for sourcing emergency resources and supporting the logistics Emergency Support Function in the City's Emergency Operations Center and Logistics Center.-Coordinated site planning for the City's debris, logistics staging area, base camp and emergency fueling operations.-Served as Logistics Section Chief during on-call emergency activations.

Office of Freight Mobility, Division of Traffic and Planning. Conducted site visits, field work, policy analysis, transportation planning, community/business outreach for several projects including:-Managed the Off-Hour Delivery program, in partnership with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which encourages local businesses to switch deliveries to the overnight hours. Worked with private businesses, local BIDs and carriers. Led outreach to engaged public stakeholders through presentations to an industry advisory group and one on one business consulting. -Developed signage and wayfinding plans for truck routing. Managed the Hunts Point Signage Pilot which tested a new experimental routing sign for trucks in the South Bronx.-Updated and managed the "Truck's Eye View" safety program that educates the public about truck blind spots through an interactive experience.-Developed outreach materials to inform the trucking industry about new programs including how to prevent bridge strikes - where overdimensional trucks hit low overpasses.-Managed the NYC truck route network and added and removed sections of local and through routes via extensive field visits, data collection and analysis.-Supported innovative delivery initiatives including truck and commercial vehicle only parking, and was instrumental in bringing the United States Postal Service's "GoPost" delivery locker package retrieval system to New York City.-Served as agency liaison for regional freight planning at the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC).-Responded to community requests that came to the agency via elected officials, 311 or the freight hotline.

Worked on implementing Solid Waste initiatives outlined in the first update to PlaNYC. Specifically policies related to waste-to-energy, commercial waste zones and reduction in waste generation. Served as the interim Solid Waste Policy Advisor to the Deputy Mayor for Operations. Coordinated planning between the Mayor's Office, the Department of Sanitation and the Business Integrity Commission.

· Researched current land use issues facing constituents · Helped investigate and write reports on various planning areas in NYC including transportation and infrastructure, affordable housing, economic development and community involvement

· Identified recommendations for the committee surrounding affordable housing issues · Analyzed the HDFC and TIL City housing programs in the area · Conducted demographic work, including surveys of residents and housing conditions · Developed a toolkit for the housing committee to use when assisting residents

· Surveyed parks in all five boroughs for this watchdog and advocacy organization · Identified conditions of turf, usership of spaces and tracked concession availability · Researched athletic field permit process in other cities and highlighted local concerns
