The Collaborative Classroom is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to providing continuous professional learning for teachers and curricula that support the academic, ethical, and social development of children. We believe that how we teach matters as much as what we teach. Our professional development honors all teachers and empowers them to create the conditions for learning that will meet rigorous state standards and nurture the needs of the whole child. I hold a BA Degree in Elementary Education from Buena Vista University and a Reading Endorsement. I am a trained Reading Recovery® teacher, reading consultant, classroom teacher and reading specialist and lifelong learner. I am a fierce advocate for students at all levels of learning and have had the honor of teaching students at Boys Town USA, and in schools from Rosebud, South Dakota to Auckland, New Zealand. I currently serve as a consultant for Find the Joy LLC and on the board of directors for Parent Trust of Washington Children.

What brings me greatest joy? - being a mother – my family – education – learning.I love helping children learn - my passion is public education, helping teachers help students and families grow strong and healthy. The research is clear – children that are surrounded in safety and unconditional love thrive and have a better chance to find joy - everyone deserves that opportunity – that is why I joyfully volunteer my time and talents to Parent Trust – Parent Trust is dedicated to parents and families by providing safe inclusive research-based educational opportunities and support…the need is great.
