The Alliance Française de Washington is a 501(c)(3) American nonprofit organization, of approximately 2,000 members, whose goal is to promote the French language and Francophone Cultures. Our cultural mission is to bring an appreciation of French tradition and innovation to the Nation’s Capital. Responsabilities: • Programs, produces and hosts regular evening cultural programs (lectures, concerts, film screenings, gastronomy and social events) as well as the annual Beaujolais Nouveau celebration (800 people). • Works closely with the Executive Directort of the Alliance and other team members to curate and implement large-scale cultural programs that celebrate and highlight the arts, lifestyle and ideas of France and francophone societies.• Supports the implementation of specific fundraising events for the cultural departement.• Manages the Cultural Programs Officer as well as assistant, potential intern(s) and volunteers.• Write event descriptions, researches and reaches out to new potential promotional sponsors, audience members and communities.• Secure event sponsorships as well as create new corporate partnerships (tasks include looking for and meeting with new prospective donors, securing in-kind donations and auction prizes, and writing applications).• Prepares and manages Cultural Department budget.• Maintains and establishes close relationships with peers, local and national Francophone cultural institutions and universities and stay abreast of current trends and projects in the cultural, artistic fields and beyond.• Attends and prepares cultural programs reports.
