Working as a study physician and conducting patient recruitment for Work Package 2 and Work Package 6.The EU-funded LiverScreen project aims to develop a novel screening approach to identify asymptomatic liver fibrosis and cirrhosis among the general population. Researchers identify groups at high risk of chronic liver disease and screen their liver stiffness with the innovative transient elastography technology. The 10 collaborating European countries will recruit 30 000 subjects to develop the screening and demonstrate its accuracy, clinical value, cost-effectiveness, acceptability and implementation potential.

THE Talk is a comprehensive sexuality education project aimed at raising awareness among young people about the importance of caring for their own reproductive system and educating them about sexual health and sexually transmitted diseases. The main activity within the project is the implementation of experiential and educational workshops about sexual health and protection against sexually transmitted diseases in secondary schools. The workshops are conducted by previously educated pair of medical students who, during one school hour in an interactive way and a pleasant trusting atmosphere discuss the topic of sexual health and protection against sexually transmitted diseases with students. The workshops have so far been held in a total of 1002 classes in 58 school and 4 homes for neglected children, with coverage of over 17 000 students. A total of 200 students participated in the student training and then held workshops in high schools.From the very beginning, the project has met with great interest and support, and workshops have so far been held in 20 cities in 12 counties.

A Public health education project in partnership with the Institute of public health and the City office for the health of the City of Zagreb, which is approved by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of science and education. It was initiated to raise awareness about the importance of prevention, seasonable check-ups, and education of the young to reduce the frequency of the most common malignant diseases with a focus on preventing carcinoma caused by HPV. HPV infection falls under the most common ailments of the reproductive system and, among others, causes six types of cancer for which an effective prevention method by vaccination is available. Inadequate information about the risks of infections, followed by the circulation of controversial statements about the consequences of vaccination, shows that Croatia, with accessible free vaccines for youngsters, still records relatively low percentages for vaccinating youngsters. The best way to face this problem is to educate the risk group, youngsters, about the accessible, reliable, and free method of prevention by vaccination that provides adequate protection from malignant consequences. Interactive workshops for students of elementary and middle schools employing the technique of peer education are being implemented by medicine students who’ve, before the seminar, go through an education led by medicine and communication experts.
