The main duties I perform in the company are to carry out target generation studies on continental-, regional- and local-explorations plays for clients. This generally involves literature reviews of existing data and data held by the client and integrating the information to select exploration targets. The targets can either be geological or commodity specific, and vary from Archean greenstone belts to modern alluvial settings. Commodities include precious- and base-metals, and industrial and energy minerals. I also produce exploration budgets and manage exploration programmes. These programmes can vary from soil or stream sediment sampling up to drilling exploration targets or resource drilling.

Compass Gold Corporation is a public mineral exploration company on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V: CVB). It holds gold exploration permits on five sites in Southern Mali with a combined land holding of 1,179 sq. km in the same region as several multi-million-ounce gold projects. Compass is headed by a highly-experienced team combining corporate and technical leadership from former key leaders and founders of IAMGOLD.

My aim of becoming a PDAC Director was to improve links with international geoscientific organizations, exploration groups, and student organizations. I wanted to ensure Canada remains at the forefront of the metals and mining industry.
