I currently work as an attorney at Disability Rights Maryland on the Developmental Disabilities, Healthcare and Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) team. This non-profit organization is dedicated to providing legal assistance to individuals with disabilities. The team that I work with handles cases of individuals with developmental disabilities and aid them in gaining access to healthcare. My specific work focuses on advocating for alternatives to guardianship. I graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law in May 2022 with a concentration in health law. I was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship upon entering law school; this scholarship was given to students who had high academic achievements while in university. While in law school, I was a member of the Health Law Association and the Student Bar Association. I was also elected as my peers to be an honor council judge, where I was responsible for working with other honor council judges in order to ensure the law school’s honor code was followed.During my summers in law school, I worked with the Epilepsy Foundation of America as their Legal Fellow, where I conducted a variety of research relating to disability law, analyzing ways in which federal and state laws work together to help those with disabilities. I additionally attended and participated in various federal agency meetings discussing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the disability community. As a result of my work with the Foundation, I developed a deep interest in the area of health law policy. I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Communication Science and Rhetoric. Additionally, I graduated with Comprehensive Honors in English Literature.
