I have had the opportunity to practice several leadership aspects. As team leader, I facilitate learning communities where I guide others in data analysis. I am also the facilitator of collaborative planning where I guide 7 teachers in planning for standards-based instruction, including explicit instruction, higher order thinking questions, and research-based strategies for learning. I am also the New Educator Support Team (NEST)Facilitator. In this role, I welcome new teachers to the campus and present the symposium to them at the beginning of the school year. I also pair the new teachers with mentors and monitor their involvement throughout the year. I have created a committee for the NEST group. I facilitate meetings with these members to create monthly professional development sessions. I present information during all NEST meetings and tailor the meetings based on the goals within the school improvement plan. I monitor teacher success within the program by reading reflection papers after every meeting, answering any questions, and offering my support. I have also conducted ongoing observations through the coaching cycle while providing feedback to the teachers. I have been involved in many parental communication aspects. I have presented information to parents during Literacy Night and Curriculum Night. I have recently organized a night of family learning for parents and students to attend virtually. I have served as a major asset to my school, as I have assisted my principal in preplanning for the school year, including preparing for the new safety protocols for COVID. I participate in weekly data analysis studies. I also analyzed school wide data to locate focus students in preparation for the FSA. I am dedicated to serving an educational population, to support growth in students and educators. I would love the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal of a school, to help strengthen engagement in teaching and learning, and to help maintain a positive culture.
