Sandy Chamoun is a musical artist, singer, and actor. Born in 1987, she lives and works in Beirut, Lebanon. Her first solo album, FATA17OCT, was released in 2022. She is currently working on her second album, commissioned by Mophradat. Alongside her solo music practice, she is a founding member of the political satire band The Great Departed, as well as of SANAM, a free-rock, post-folk sextet. The Great Departed released their first album La Bombe in 2016 to great acclaim across Arab-majority countries. SANAM released their first album in June 2023 titled Aykathani Malakon, which was followed by a European and UK tour. Chamoun was part of a compilation for the Beirut And Beyond Foundation, where she released her solo track Siret El Roeb in 2021. Chamoun has performed countless concerts, and has extensively researched and sung Arabic folk songs containing social and political critique. She has sung the repertoire of Sheikh Imam and Mona Meraashli at Metro Al Madina and other venues. She participated as an actor and singer in several theatrical productions: Political Circus, Welada88, and Aghani Servicet (Taxi Songs). These shows were featured at Metro Al-Madina, Beiteddine Festival, and elsewhere. She has worked as a sound designer on two short films, There Is a Baba in Our House by Leil Zahra Mortada and Congress of Idling Persons by Bassem Saad
