Namaste Children’s Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting girls in the under served communities of Nepal as efficiently as possible. NCF believes that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering individuals to improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities and future generations.As a trustee to this small NGO, I provide general oversight, fundraising, program strategy and visit our school in Nepal to meet with the staff and girls.

Stepping into a new season of life to enjoy the outdoors, semi-retirement and family while staying involved in my passion to end period poverty with a great organization. Feel fortunate to be able to combine the best of both worlds.

Days for Girls inspires and empowers a world-wide network of volunteers and locally based women entrepreneurs who make washable menstrual products for girls and women. We couple this with education and training to break taboos, improve access to healthy menstrual management, and keep girls in school and women at work. “Every girl. Everywhere.Period.”

Grameen Foundation is a global nonprofit that helps the world’s poorest people reach their full potential by providing access to essential financial services and information on agriculture and health. We also develop tools to improve the effectiveness of poverty-focused organizations.I worked to match passionate, smart philanthropists with innovative solutions that improve opportunities for people living in extreme poverty.

Greater Seattle Area

Served as the interim CEO and President of the Council during their executive search. The World Affairs Council of Seattle has been dedicated to creating opportunities for people in the Greater Seattle region to become more engaged in building a global community. Each of the Council’s programs advances a deeper understanding of world events and cultures for community members of all ages and backgrounds. As a hub for all things international in Greater Seattle, the Council provides professional and social connections for people who share a passion for world affairs.

LandesaGrounded in the knowledge that having legal rights to land is the foundation for prosperity and opportunity, Landesa partners with governments and local organizations to ensure that the world’s poorest families have secure rights over the land they till. Founded as the Rural Development Institute in 1967, Landesa has helped more than 100 million families gain legal control over their land, unlocking sustainable economic growth and advancing education, nutrition, and conservation efforts.Over the course of my tenure, I was directly involved in all aspects of individual and foundation giving. This included building relationships and writing proposals and reports to major institutions and corporations, such as Omidyar Networks, PACCAR and the Gates Foundation, working with high net worth individual donors and planning and leading fundraising events including international donor trips and our annual luncheon.

Bellevue/Redmond

Hopelink is the largest social service agency in East/North King County and provides housing, food, transportation, emergency services and education to low income and homeless families.In my role at Hopelink, I managed a team of 4 grant writers and corporate development officers. Served on the development leadership team and built key relationships with supporters including the Gates Foundation, Comcast, private family foundations, and the Boeing Company.

Served on the Board of Visitors for Antioch Seattle.

Greater Seattle Area

The WDC serves as a research and development center for workforce issues in Seattle-King County. We invest through grant making and participate in strategic initiatives to strengthen our economy and ensure that all residents have the opportunity to achieve success. My work included building sector-based initiatives in healthcare, technology and manufacturing and overseeing the King County WorkSource system. I managed up to 10 program managers who oversaw our grant making in the community. I also wrote grants and conducted program evaluations.

Provided evaluation, policy, advocacy and program consulting services to local non-profits and govenments. Co-managed the Human Services Roundtable.

Olympia

As the Governor's policy advisor, I worked on issues facing families and children as they related to federal changes such as welfare reform and workforce development. Prior to this role I served as the Governor's Sr. Special Assistant which included managing the Governor's daily schedule, briefing papers and community outreach.

Developed and implemented SU's first academic program for at-risk university students and foster youth.
