Built, from the ground up, the FIRST public relations department for AED's Center for Health Communication (CHC), recruiting an expert,seasoned staff of public relations professionals. Co-managed the Annual Influenza Vaccination Campaign for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for nearly four years. Provided crisis communications counsel and public relations/marketing advice across departments. Conceived of and produced an award-wining video for CDC entitled "Why Flu Vaccination Matters: Personal Stories of Families Affected by Influenza." This nearly seven-minute video won the DC Silver ADDY, the PRSA Platinum Award and the PRSA Bronze Anvil in 2009. Conducted and oversaw media and partnership outreach efforts, media buys, PSA development, radio media tours, ethnic media roundtables, and the execution of many innovative marketing tactics to promote flu vaccination to diverse audiences. Managed a $300,000 budget to educate EMS providers about a new gold standard national field triage protocol. Developed brands, key messages, and innovative campaign strategies for various clients.
