Revolutions Transport Museum

During my time at Revolutions Transport Museum, I carried out several historical research projects for the museums collection. Additionally I used my strong skills in digitizing paper collections to digitize a collection of documents relevant to the Horse Drawn Vehicles in the collection. This work has ensured that the information in paper form is now safe as well as, providing all future researcher with ease of access to the vital material. In this role I also implemented my strong skills around preservation techniques and storage practices to preserve many artifacts.

Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. I came to the practice of yoga nearly 8 years ago, while being attended to by a surgeon - who was preparing me for knee replacements. I stumbled (not literally) across Iyengar yoga and tried it - both my surgeon and I were very pleased with the results and to date I have avoided the operation. My teaching focuses on self observation to bring transformation to the body and the soul.

The role of the Classification Standing Committee (CSC) is to assess built environment heritage and ensure items of state and national significance are recommended for addition the State Heritage Register. Each committee member researches specific sites while the CSC oversees and guides each project to eventually be submitted for classification by the State Heritage Office. The committee is an important addition in helping to protect the precious heritage that remains in Western Australia.

While assisting the Belmont Museum to ready their collection for moving, I undertook a wide variety of work relating directly to Collection management. This work included assessment of the collection, accessioning and auditing the artefacts, photographing collection artefacts, database management, packing items for storage and training staff and volunteers on artefact cleaning, handling and packing.
