For 20 years I directed two youth citizenship programs for UMSL’s Citizenship Education Clearing House (CECH) in the College of Education---Kids Voting Missouri-a K-12 youth voter education program and MY LOGO (Missouri Youth Engaged in Local Government)--a youth local government program. After 20 years at UMSL & 50 total years of working in the field of civic education, I "retired" from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in May 2019.My responsibilities and expertise have included: recruiting schools, teachers and government leaders; arranging and conducting workshops; creating and delivering lessons; developing and carrying out special events and projects; recruiting and training volunteers; designing and providing customer service training; researching funding opportunities and writing grant proposals; and networking with education and community leaders to promote and support civic education programs.
