Hired as head of Data Science and BI to build competitive intelligence data products and automated pricing applications. I work cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams to develop systems that optimize the collection of competitive data, identify relationships between those products and our own catalog and generate intelligent eCommerce pricing actions at scale (this year we collected 1.7B product pages, generated 2M new relevant product matches and took 9M automated online price actions).

Promoted to Director when I took on a top initiative for the company to significantly reduce the cost of our review moderation operations by leveraging NLP machine learning. In less than a year, my team’s efforts saved hundreds of thousands of dollars. My team also supported our Ads business by building smarter audiences from consumer behavior data collected across the Bazaarvoice network of 6000+ brands and retailers, as well as driving revenue for the new Data business by developing data products that were sold to 3rd parties.

Brought on to manage a small team of analysts to support clients with custom reporting and insights on their CGC (consumer-generated content) program. Through automation efforts, I was able to reduce the time spent on basic reporting and leverage the analysts for more strategic analyses and insights. We became the Analytics center of excellence supporting all areas of the business including Client Success, Sales, Marketing and Product/Engineering. The team provided powerful shopper behavior insights and critical ROI impact analyses to help brand and retail clients understand how to drive revenue on their sites and increase investment in their Bazaarvoice program by demonstrating the value of CGC (consumer-generated content) to their executives. As the team’s impact to the organization grew, I was able to grow the team in size and skillset eventually hiring Data Scientists and Data Engineer expertise onto the team. The most significant thought leadership deliverables from our team each year were the joint effort marketing publications: Conversation Index (later CGC Index, Shopper Experience Index) and Holiday Headquarters. I started two Product/Engineering initiatives to drive better measurement, metric standardization, and insights into our Products and across the organization: Product Analysts embedded on product teams and creation of the Bazaarvoice Analytics Standards committee.

Hired onto a small team of statisticians that were supporting URS projects globally. Our team supported a variety of projects and clients. As a consultant-based company, we were responsible for marketing ourselves internally to find project opportunities. Our skills and reputation on projects led to new projects and growth on the team. SAS & SQL used primarily. Typical projects were human health & ecological risk assessments.

Managed resource allocation and project management for Dell's Home and Small Business Online QA Department. Generated software quality monitoring metrics, and implemented business process improvements leveraging Six Sigma.

Managed software quality, technical writing, and localization for STATISTICA (a statistical, data management, and graphing software application) and other related products. Responsible for custom programming and implementation services for enterprise-wide solutions. Led a team of 8 technical writers and software quality, localization and software engineers.

Managed the design of enterprise statistical systems, and other hardware and database connectivity software products. Consulted with large corporate clients on the purchasing and implementation of data acquisition, quality control, and statistical-based enterprise systems. Provided training, advanced technical support, and developed custom application extensions for enterprise customers. Gained extensive experience with database design, data collection devices, and the data acquisition process.

Planned and conducted the modeling of oral health outcomes using multiple logistic regression, categorical data analysis, and graphical exploratory analysis. This epidemiological work was part of the World Health Organization’s International Collaborative Study of Oral Health. Advised department faculty and Dental Public Health residents regarding the proper application of statistical methods and interpretation and presentation of results. Designed sampling analysis plans and statistical methodology sections for grant proposals.
