My motivation to start my own business at the age of 25 came from refusing to accept the assessment from one of my high school teachers wherein she told me I wouldn't amount to anything worthwhile in my adult life. Ironically I should send her a note of thanks now because my business 'SMFCARPENTRY' has achieved a lot in four years. I am looking to grow my network and team of three across the Riverina, the Snow Country and into the ACT where I also have an established second home base.I have successfully worked on commercial building projects and residential construction opportunities as well. I currently hold a contract with the NSW Department of Land and Housing which engages my business on carpentry and building maintenance jobs in various public housing precincts. My work is assessed and always found of a high standard. In addition to these general tasks I have also worked with Wagga Marble and Granite and B and M Kitchens.I am excited at the prospect of taking on new and varied construction projects now and into 2018. I am a qualified Master Carpenter and about to complete my Certificate IV in Building and Construction. I understand the VET system and am working with my apprentice to build his skillset through this as well. I am young, strong and keen to learn from expert craftsmen and business professionals. I am expanding my business acumen and reading as much as I can find on LinkedIn about management and building a successful business.
