I began working in the print industry in 1981. I have done it all; from the days when we had to pre-coat our own press plates to hand cutting 4/C, duping film and conventionally imaging plates. I learned the various stages along the way, over many years, to what is now the current industry workflow of automation. I have been a prepress supervisor for many years.Over two years ago I help integrate a software program in the company that allowed us to connect many factors. Monarch and Prograph software and servers allow us to keep abreast of current work being done in house in real time, the added Auto-Count module has given our presses an accurate method of quickly tallying printed product. Customer Service generates all production tickets, including a much more detailed report to oversee the customers requirements are met, from prepress to bindery.Changes in our industry have repurposed and realigned my daily job functions. Now along with continuing as the Customer Supervisor, I am also the Planning and Logistics Coordinator. I oversee our pressroom paper inventory and orders as well as scheduling work. I supervise and schedule our truck drivers. I collect annual emissions from our heatset ovens to report to the State of NH. I am involved in invoicing customers and assist other staff in their processes as well. I work directly with customers in creating publication calendars and support management in as many ways as you can imagine.
