During her 20 years in the industry, Sandy has collected several invaluable skills that are an asset to any commercial building project, whether in design, construction, or operation. Her years of experience as a lighting designer enable her to work seamlessly with the team to optimize their daylighting design for occupant comfort and energy savings using 3D annual simulation software. Knowing there is a big difference between writing a Measurement & Verification (M&V) Plan and implementing one, Sandy’s expertise as a Certified M&V Professional further supports high-performance building projects through critical M&V Plan development and implementation. Supporting clients’ performance goals, Sandy develops preliminary electrical submetering designs used for Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx), facilitates the integration of submeters into Building Automation Systems, and analyzes initial submeter data to verify correct submeter installation. Having confirmed submeters are trending high quality data, Sandy monitors building operation, compares it to design intent, and recommends corrective action as needed to ensure the project remains on track for achieving its high-performance goals during the first year of operation. Among her notable projects is the Alpine Branch Library—the first Zero Energy library certified by the Living Building Challenge.
