As a veteran anchor for AP's radio network -- I anchored newscasts, news updates, live special reports and live programming. I've covered presidential conventions, elections, breaking news, features and entertainment, including the Oscars and Emmys. Duties also included serving as an in-house reporter and travel feature reporter, voicing AP Online Video reports and voicing names and places for AP's Online Stylebook pronunciation guide. I occassionaly filled in as newsroom supervisor, deciding on story coverage, delegating assignments, sending out hourly news feed, handling live special reports.

Buffalo/Niagara, New York Area

It was great fun being the reporter and producer of Channel 2's weekly "2 on the Town" reports. This weekly feature covered local entertainment, cultural and social events, touring theater productions, movie openings, interviews with visiting actors and musicians. I also worked as a weekend general assignment reporter for WGRZ-TV.

If it happened in Buffalo, we covered it at GR55 radio -- during a real heyday for radio news. Crime, trials, government, schools, breaking news -- coverage that resulted in my receiving a number of AP,UPI and New York State Broadcasters Association awards. I was a morning drive anchor -- and street reporter later in the day -- savoring every minute of it!

This was news coverage IN person -- where the beat was whatever was happening in Lorain County. When not anchoring newscasts, we didn't wait for news to come to us. We went to the police and fire departments, the mayor's office, county courthouse and clerk's office, the school board and city council meetings, to track down and cover the events of the day.
