Either way I didn't know what they were saying as I took 4 years of Latin in high school!It was a fantastic teaching experience and I had the pleasure of working with so many talented educators. My assigned students were very special to me and it was hard to leave them at the end. Call me old fashioned, but I really felt good about helping several students improve their penmanship by offering them special pencil grips, mechanical pencils, triangular shaped pencils and teaching them about spacing between letters and words. Believe it or not our youngest two boys don't even know how to write their names in script because that was basically cut out of the school curriculum (except for a cursory lesson or two--pun intended.) I still think mastery of those fine motor skills through learning cursive writing is developmentally important, in spite of the fact students today type and text more than write. Show less

Marketing, materials development and program promotion were all accomplished using in house services. Outlook, the company intranet and website were also used for program promotion and coordination. *Served as a member and active participant on the United Way Corporate Giving Committee, RB Annual Picnic Committee, MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team), Habitat for Humanity, Earth Day Event, etc. accomplishing support for both the company and being a good corporate neighbor.*Worked closely with food services and office services to plan on site special events. Obtained support from and collaborated with the Communication and Public Relations department on many Fitness Center special events and initiatives and vice versa.*Also responsible for spearheading Project Lean Machine, RB's $100,000 Fitness Center renovation project. Conducted employee and stakeholder needs assessments, designed 3 levels of proposals, sought management approval, and coordinated and implemented the plan. Budgeting, exercise equipment selection, floor plans, architectural design input, decorating, audio and video equipment choices, selection, and location were included as part of project coordination.Upon project completion RB awarded me a full day of pampering and services at the Fountains Spa in Ramsey as a reward.
