Respond to emergency calls for fire, medical, and other emergency situations. Remove individuals from dangerous and hazardous situations. Performed all activities necessary to suppress and extinguish fires. Assess emergency medical problems and performs prescribed treatment as outlined and authorized under Texas First Responder guidelines. Performed code enforcement, pre-fire surveys and building inspections; issue burn permits; maintains hydrants; provides education to the public on fire safety/prevention; provides tours of fire station facilities. Clean and maintains fire stations, grounds, apparatus and other equipment; make minor repairs and adjustments to apparatus and equipment. Operate machinery, equipment and light motor vehicles; ensure appropriate maintenance; operate specialized fire vehicles and equipment (a fire engine, ladder trucks, pumps, etc.) with sufficient experience and training. Receive and/or prepares various documentation (forms, checklists, reports, correspondence, etc.); processes, completes, and/or forwards as appropriate. Respond to routine requests for information from officials, employees, and members of the staff, the public or other individuals. Participate in and conducts training classes.
