Serves as Chief, Internal Review (IR) for the USACE ~$40 bil, ~37k FTE program, managing 19 IR professionals and overseeing an additional 76 IR professionals in the Community of Practice. Supports the Commanding General and USACE leadership with professional reviews and consulting services that promote improved risk management and foster stewardship through best business practices. Provides analysis and recommendations over the broad spectrum of financial and operational management areas.

Took immediate action to achieve budget parity for the Treasury Department via the FY 2007 budget submission; achieved a FY 2007 budget increase of $1.098 billion (9.43%) over FY 2006 funding. o Steered the management team through the creation of the Department’s annual budgets for FY 2007 and FY 2008, including establishing and chairing a budget review board.  Aligned with the Administration’s vision and commitment of reducing the deficit and controlling federal spending by preserving the resources needed to support the Department’s vital role in that process. Created and spearheaded a strategic planning group tasked with constructing the Department’s FY 2006-FY 2011 Strategic Plan Worked cohesively with each of the Under Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries, Bureau Heads, and other members of the Department’s management team, providing a clear vision for the future, establishing outcomes for each function and strategic priorities, indicating how success is measured and evaluated and guiding decisions for managing the Department.  Provided hands-on management, leading the Department in an improved ranking among federal agencies from #16 to #5 for its FY2005 Performance and Accountability Report. Served on the President’s Management Council and led the Department’s work in implementing the President’s Management Agenda.
