Pursuing a childhood dream in this performing dance job working on a unique project exploring somatic theories through improvisational pieces. I contribute my own body stories and exercises to our process. I was selected as one of just five dancers for the inaugural season of this company.

One of two paralegals handling a queue of over 100 cases for Army Reserve Soldiers at a division level. Cases included Investigations, General Officer Memorandums of Reprimand, Separations, and COVID-19 vaccination exemptions requests. I created checklists for specific circumstances according to regulation. I would vet packets according to these checklists before sending to a lawyer (JAG). I would exercise my own judgement on the action to take on each packet before sending it to the next authority. Some of these packets turned into administrative board hearings which I also helped the JAGs prepare for, and ultimately recorded. I kept track of each file through an electronic tracker and sorted through data to obtain summary numbers for the JAGs. I often assisted with technology questions on Adobe or printers through trouble-shooting.

I go between the horticulture and natural resources crews helping where needed and using this job as an opportunity to learn more about the natural field. I have planted trees and flowers, sodded sports fields, obtained my pesticide license, learned some plant identification, used saws and brushcutters, have experience burning brush piles and worked in cold temperatures. I took pride in working in my community for my community. It was exciting and fulfilling to drive by parks and think, "I did that."

I bring a finishing touch of fun, education, and excitement to the Illumination event at the Morton Arboretum. I man the marketing table inside the visitor's center where I and a fellow intern enthusiastically invite our passing guests to spin the wheel of tree trivia. I choose questions I feel best suit the visitor and after giving away a prize, I encourage our guests to share with me their highlights and suggestions for the evening. I also collect emails for our survey to further collect feedback for future improvements. We work as a team to balance our energies and talents each day.In the office, I do data entry and prepare packages to send to winning visitors from theme night entries as well as keep track of summary engagement statistics from the table. I'm currently analyzing the data from the past 3 years to summarize changes in performance and making the summary statistics interactive and presentable.

I worked with TRiO Upward Bound's summer component at UIUC which enrolled high schoolers of low-income or first generation in a residential college prep program. My soft skills grew this summer as I relied upon my residential and administrative team to work through a very dynamic schedule. I maintained professionalism by communicating concerns or emergencies to the correct people in a timely manner and learned to maintain calm when students became disgruntled. This was a position where I had rules to enforce but also recieved the flexibility to use my own judgement in how to carry out activities or warn students before disciplinary action.

Through independent troubleshooting and problem-solving, I formatted data and designed interactive maps with ArcMap and ArcGIS Online to display food access problems in St Louis. These maps were to be used as educational and leveraging tools for policy reform which was discussed at great length through meetings I attended with various organizations and one on one with my advisor, Melissa.

I joined the Sustainability committee where we discussed green initiatives and educational opportunities for the Y building. One effort underway this year was getting the bike library back up and running for which I drafted up questions we needed to consider and offered a resource list for committee members to research. Another had been waste signage and bins for which I attended building committee meetings as well to discuss possibilities. Though not the last of what we worked towards, we also researched ways to reduce food waste from the café in the building.

• Set up, cleaned up, and oversaw 2-4 physics and chemistry labs daily as classroom safety supervisor• Organized and managed supply of lab equipment and other classroom materials in stock room• Assisted senior staff by sorting applications for over 200 students, making copies, rewriting lessons, taking in classroom photos, occasionally writing a blog entry• Served as a substitute teacher for a brief lesson about "Wonder" by R. J. Palacio and how we view others• Supervised children ages 7-13 in after lunch recreational activities I had tutored at similar academic summer camps as a staff member who only handled in classroom work. I was surprised to see how much behind the scenes work was done but handled whatever task I was given which included substitute teaching. This job has given me insights into running a summer long, multi-program academic camp and challenged the way I look at STEM education.

I was assigned to 3-4 different seventh grade math classes each semester, where my priority was to assist the instructor in whatever manner they asked of me. I could be asked to proctor a white board math test, take some students out of class and review the content they missed when they were absent or walk around and help whichever students needed clarification at the time. I wasn't notified of the lessons ahead of time, so I had to quickly learn how to explain a topic the way they had learned it when I wasn't there, but I learned to use what the students did know to help them solve the problem. From time to time, a math lesson including listening to a students' accounts of home life and perceptions of school staff. I saw how much of a difference their stories made on their learning abilities, even if just for that day and considered it incredibly important to take the time to listen to help them channel their energy into learning about graphs and algebra.

Managed the cash register, phone, seating the door, and serving up to 8 tables in the same rotation while communicating with co-workers and management to deliver excellent customer serviceOccasionally I had the difficult task of explaining a long wait time to my guests due to a backed up kitchen. In such instances, I demonstrated consideration, patience and short term time management by providing my guests whatever I could manage on my own and providing time estimates to our guests before they began their order. In addition, I maintained a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that invited guests back to regularly request me.
