As part of The City's Watershed Planning division, we lead studies and provide support across the corporation for all aspects of integrated watershed management. River monitoring and forecasting. Flow measurements. River ice monitoring. Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling for our watersheds, rivers and creeks. Flood mapping. Flood resilience planning including mitigation infrastructure, development regulation, public awareness and personal flood resilience programming. Review of new and re-development plans. Dam safety, reservoir operations and flow regulation. Drought monitoring and resilience planning. Erosion, bank protection and bioengineering. Fish habitat. River recreation and access. Site selection and design of channel crossings. Participation in watershed forums and with other watershed management stakeholders such as Bow River Basin Council, Bow River Working Group and Calgary Metropolitan Region Board. Public engagement and education.
