Administered 150+ machines including Solaris, Red Hat Linux, IRIX, and Windows servers and workstations in a heterogeneous environment supporting 24x7 operations. Implemented the use of Kickstart to streamline Red Hat Linux installations cutting hands on time in half. Facilitated the use of system administration tools to standardize cross-site operations. Strengthened the security posture of the machines administered by aligning them with site best practices utilizing a centralized logging server, network monitoring tools and ensuring security advisories have been mitigated. Configured and maintained high availability server using clustered resources.

Built, tested, and deployed hybrid computer systems including Linux, Solaris, and XP workstations, Linux, Solaris, Windows, Citrix and VMware servers. Implemented stringent levels of security hardening on workstations and servers utilizing Centrify to join Unix workstations to Windows Active Directory enabling the enforcement of Group Policy Objects to non-windows workstations for 3000+ users. Configured Citrix Access Gateway for remote access. Set up test environment including creating Domain Name Server (DNS), Network Information Service (NIS), and Active Directory to work together as a cohesive unit. Utilized Center for Internet Security (CIS) guidelines and tools to harden all components of local and distributed computer systems.

Managed a heterogeneous computer system with up to 1000 machines with operating systems including Linux, Solaris, and Tru64. Installed and administered SysEdge and Concord on 300+ machines to provide trending information on network and machine activities. Restored raid sets after disk failures using LSM or Solaris disk suite. Created and deployed the (NIS) within a Tru64 environment to provide temporary users accounts and machines to utilize while delivering systems.

Supported Configuration Management for accurate baseline maintenance by performing regular machine audits. Introduced and implemented the use of a Jumpstart server to provide automated installation of the Solaris operating system reducing the time of OS installation by 75%. Set up NIS for the entire domain. Configured and maintained a RAID storage array using Veritas Volume Manager.

Coordinated multiple projects including determining which software and hardware configuration items are considered systems, creating a package concept where all software systems will be considered for packaging, and performing machine audits on all machines, updating and verifying validity of information in the new baseline tool.
