This is accomplished by gathering, sorting, organizing and recording assorted data, information and hard documents.Knowledge of MRP systemsDetermine suitability of purchasing arrangements: create purchase orders, contracts, blanket orders or vendor stocking arrangements.Issue purchase orders to complete purchasing processes in accordance with evolving procedures.Follow up on inbound stock, including expediting stock orders and completion of transfers.Coordinate selection of new suppliers on basis of capability, pricing and capacity.Negotiate contract terms with existing suppliers to obtain best possible costs, quality and delivery.Place backorders with appropriate vendors and coordinate pick up with warehouses.Identify and resolve material discrepancies with suppliers.Seek process improvement opportunities and assist in development and implementation.Perform other related tasks for purpose of ensuring efficient and effective function of the purchasing work unit, such as annual inventory and audit.Initiate and coordinate transfers between large and small branches to ensure adequate stock levels, as well as maintaining appropriate min/max stock levels in house.Maintain master price list.Evaluate supplier performance based on department and supplier-developed measurement process.
