I am passionate about providing optimal veterinary care to animals. I do this by educating veterinarians through consultations on small animal medicine and taking a step further to promote effective communications of complicated medical disease to the pet owner. I advocate for the owner and the pet in all of my consultations. I am practical. I support the use of diagnostics to augment the history and physical exam, but appreciate that factors often necessitate a focus on supportive treatment in lieu of diagnostic testing. I am honored to be a respected resource for the veterinary community. I also support my profession of veterinary medicine through organized veterinary medicine. I have over 20 years of volunteer experience in my local, state, and national veterinary organization. I currently serve as delegate from Washington State to the AVMA House of Delegates. I am finishing up a three year term in the AVMA House Advisory Committee, which governs and serves the House of Delegates. I currently chair two AVMA committees reviewing AVMA governance. I am past president of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association and recently stepped down as chair of their program committee, a position I held for 17 years. I am past president of the Puget Sound VMA. a proud regional veterinary association that was recently sunsetted. I am in my eighth year as chair of board of the Feral Cat Spay and Neuter Project located in Lynnwood, WA. a small organization doing big things for cats in our community with a strong mentoring program for agencies outside the Puget Sound. I am a member of World Vets and have served on four of their service projects including Guatemala, San Andres Columbia, Roatan Honduras and Siem Reap Cambodia. I am a member of the South Everett Mukilteo Rotary.
