My best composing, singing, and piano playing efforts ever, and I was supported by a killer rock band. Rolling Stone (India) called it "soaring" and Splice Today says the album is a heady mix of "lyricism and cynicism." Earlier projects (as Sandy Asirvatham): MOBTOWN MOON (2013), a Pink Floyd homage (see full description below), and MEMOIR (2007), my original jazz-pop debut.

I've learned so much over the years from being founder Ariel Hyatt's client as an indie musician. It's a thrill and a joy to represent and work for her company again (after a year-long hiatus). I am the first point of contact for our inbound prospective clients. It's enormous fun to listen to their music, discuss their needs, hopes, and dreams, and match them with our team's expertise in publicity, branding, marketing, and social media.

I worked with director Rick Lewis on TV spots and promotional videos for many terrific Maryland companies, including BGE. Won an Emmy as producer/writer on "There's a Killer Behind Me," a faux horror movie trailer that turns out to be a humorous reminder to wear your seatbelt, even in the backseat.

Mobtown Moon was a unique Pink Floyd tribute and massive collaboration with singer-songwriter ellen cherry and a collective of first-rate Baltimore creative musicians. We put together a beautiful new full-length arrangement of Pink Floyd's DARK SIDE OF THE MOON in honor of its 40th anniversary. Floyd like you've never heard it before! Our CD has been hailed around the world by music bloggers and Internet radio DJs. Here in town we won Best of Baltimore honors from both CityPaper and Baltimore Magazine. Nearly a thousand people attended our CD release concert in fall 2013. Through the wild and wacky world of Internet marketing we continue, in our small and independent way, to bring this music to the ears of delighted fans.

My biweekly opinion column for Baltimore CityPaper ran for 5 years and twice won honors from the Maryland Association of Professional Journalists. I was a general-topic contributor to Time Out New York, Poets & Writers Magazine, Baltimore CityPaper, US Weekly, Success Magazine, Chelsea House young adult publishers (7 short books of history and biography), and many other outlets. In the 1980s-early 1990s I developed a significant sideline writing financially oriented articles for housing development and real estate investment magazines.
