Drawing from her experience as a successful entrepreneur, small business instructor and consultant, Sandy spearheaded the center's launch to provide business education, counseling, and technical training services to assist women starting or expanding businesses. She planned, coordinated and directed the activities of the center including overall strategy, day-to-day operations and financial management, community partnerships, staffing and volunteer engagement, programs and services, data reporting, media relations and fundraising. Her work included organizing programs and services throughout the State of Kansas in partnership with service providers located in other counties. She served as liaison with Small Business Administration District Office, Office of Women's Business Ownership and Grants Management in Washington, partner organizations in Kansas and Missouri, and the local community. Sandy set up and organized systems and policies for center's overall startup and operations, and served hundreds of business owners by doubling the annual budget in first four years of operation. She served as spokesperson for the center and hosted the weekly radio talk show, Enterprising Women, on 1510 KCTE.
