The Committee reviews Environmental Impact Studies and Environmental Assessments that may have an impact on the natural features and ecological functions of London's Natural Heritage System. Also makes policy recommendations to City Council.

Management consulting to non-profits, neighbourhood associations and environmental groups.

Provided overall supervision and coordination of the administrative operations of this affiliated college of the University of Western Ontario. Prepared and monitored the budget; managed contracted services (dining hall, policing, and facility maintenance). Also provided human resource services and policy development. Supervised the Chief Accountant, the financial aid office and conference services operation. Chair of the Emergency Operations Control Group. Provided oversight for renovation and renewal projects. Conducted successful negotiations of a new collective agreement with staff represented by OPSEU. Concluded a long standing pay equity dispute with OPSEU at a cost $150,000 less than expected.

Managed and coordinated the program's $14 million budget. Direct responsibilities included: budget preparation, analysis, and reporting; process re-design; collaboration with workload measurement and operational performance staff to identify data needed to improve the delivery of clinical services and meet Provincial reporting requirements. Represented Mental Health Care at LHSC's Business Planning and Clinical Capital Budget Committees. Coordinated accreditation preparation in 2002 and 2005. Worked closely with LHSC Facilities staff to plan and implement a move from an older facility to newly constructed space. From 2003 to 2006 supervised two outpatient programs with 14 staff in addition to my regular duties.

Working in a self-directed work team, consulted withinternal clients to identify specific development needsincluding change management and strategic planning.Projects included strategic planning for the AccountsPayable and Purchasing departments, Children's Services,Mental Health Care and Family Medicine. Working withstaff from Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry,prepared a leadership development program for programleaders and physicians. Lead facilitator for a variety ofteam building sessions for clients.

Initiated and won support for new policies including Woodlot Acquisition and Facilities Accessibility Design Standards. Served six years on the London Transit Commission (and reappointed by Council after not running for re-election in 2003), as well as one term on the Library Board where I was involved in developing a new strategic plan and chairing a Task Force which lead to the building of a new central library. Chaired the city's audit committee and served on its special task force on the Energy Competition Act which determined the direction for the city's municipal utility, London Hydro. As a condition of city financial support to the University, initiated and served on the University-City committee that enhanced relations between the city, Western, and its affiliated institutions.
