• Ensure that Toronto Community Housing staff have followed the relevant legislation, as well as, Toronto Community Housing’s own policies, procedures and practices.• Engage directly with senior or vulnerable Toronto Community Housing tenants facing the threat of eviction for arrears.• Identify the underlying challenges tenants face which may have led to unpaid rent.• Work with tenants to create solutions to achieve successful tenancies.• Connect tenants to community agencies for ongoing support.• Work closely with relevant stakeholders such as City of Toronto staff, legal clinics, mental health agencies, voluntary trustees to create achievable solutions for the tenants arrears with an aim at keeping individuals and families housed.• Interview and assist with training new employees.• Assist mentees with setting their goals and work toward achieving them by providing mentees opportunities to engage and build relationships with tenants and stakeholders.• Conduct public and tenant engagement presentations to various stakeholder including ONPHA, City of Toronto staff, Ontario Disability Support Program and Ontario Works. • Sit as a member of the City of Toronto Rent Geared to Income Review Body to determine and decide appeals of TCHC decisions.

• Execute case management, case planning and delivery of services to diverse and marginalized population groups and provide service to Portuguese speaking youth and their families.• Manage and drive to closure approximately 20 concurrent caseloads.• Assess family and individual functioning.• Investigate reports and continue to assess the safety of children in need of protection within medium to high risk situations. • Collaborate with families and community agencies from a strengths-based, anti-oppression and solution-focused perspective to identify needs, set goals and establish plans for service and permanency.• Conduct investigations to verify information provided by clients for the purpose of court proceedings and case management.• Coordinate and collaborate with multiple community resources for clients and their families for a variety of services, including transportation, income benefits, community support groups, recreation, child-care and health services.• Prepare court documents and attend court proceedings to support current caseload.• Prepare reports and needed documentation to comply with legislative standards.• Lead case conferences, family group conferences and participate in family mediation regarding issues of custody and access and/or settlement conferences regarding permanency planning in meeting the safety and well-being of children and youth.

• Screen phone calls regarding potential child abuse allegations, including neglect, physical and sexual abuse, substance abuse and parent/teen conflict.• Rate eligibility of referrals as per Eligibility Spectrum assessment.• Investigate reports of children alleged to be in need of protection and assess high risk situations.• Provide protective services to children including implementing provisions for immediate child safety.• Where necessary, conduct warrants for apprehension and related court documentation.• Conduct crisis intervention and provide supportive services to children and parents/caregivers.• Complete psycho-social assessments to assess psycho-social functioning of children and caregivers/families to determine best practices in provision of child protective services and support to caregivers and families of children in need of protection.
