I am now responsible for the Nashville and Atlanta markets. I am managing the Facility staff in both markets.

I am responsible for all facility work at all Flexential Nashville area data centers. I am expected to insure all UPS systems (including batteries), all HVAC systems, all chilled water plants, and all generators are online and available to support 100% uptime for our facilities.

• My job is to maintain uptime of a 5000 square foot data center. I schedule/perform preventative and remedial maintenance on the electrical, cooling, facility monitoring, generator, facility access, and UPS battery systems. I negotiate maintenance contracts with the appropriate vendors for these systems. During my time at Nexus we have held costs steady. I generate and deliver weekly reporting on systems capacities and health. I have developed Nexus Business Continuity/ Disaster Recovery plan. I prepare and manage budget for the facility department. I have developed and teach employee and customer training on data center procedures. I am currently developing and teaching cross departmental training sessions for employees.

• My work here was in the facility management group for the IT department. I was brought in to help develop plans for the renovation of a 20,000 square foot data center in Memphis. Once the center was up we then had to move the existing 400 plus servers and network from Nashville to Memphis with no downtime for some systems and minimal for all others. The project began just before I started and we finished the move in April of 2008. The move was very successful in meeting deadlines, downtime, and budgetary requirements. We ran slightly over budget due to major scope changes during the process. I worked with contractors and engineers in design and build at the Memphis property. The facility was an abandoned data center that had been shut down for six years. We had to rebuild and rework existing infrastructure adding additional equipment to meet our requirements. We brought online 4 500KW UPS systems, 13 HVAC units, redundant chilled water towers, 12 existing electrical distribution units, 4 new electrical distribution units, and a facility monitoring system. We also added a command center and staff offices. The installation included approximately 60 server and networking cabinets.• In addition to the build out and move I also had to maintain uptime in six other corporate data centers across the country. In those cases we acted as escalation services for those facilities, going onsite when issues could not be resolved other ways. I worked with the facility in California on electrical issues, the facility in Connecticut on HVAC issues, the facility in South Carolina on UPS issues just to name a few.

Responsible for all IT operations. Purchase, installation, maintenance on all systems. Responsible for vendor relationships and contracts.

While at WebMD I held several positions. I was responsible for data center operations for a while. I was responsible for system administration. I was responsible for facility infrastructure. I was responsible for operations training.
