I am an award-winning, internationally-recognised expert in research culture and the development of professional practice. I oversee career and talent development for doctoral, early career researchers and fellows, mid-career and senior managers. I lead teams that deliver significant returns on investment in multi-disciplinary training, development and leadership activities which are recognised as gold standards for inclusivity and accessibility. I foster strategic partnerships with leading internal and external stakeholders across a variety of hybrid and hyflex talent-development settings, including the commissioning of international experts. In seven years, I have grown the impact and engagement of the University of Liverpool’s Researcher Talent Development activities from <40 individuals and <10 activities to 5500+ individuals and 250+ sector-leading activities annually. I led the team that was awarded hosting rights to the flagship UK National Postdoc Conference. I chaired a steering group of 24 colleagues from 14 different institutions, including those in the devolved nations, and oversaw the design, organisation and delivery of this event for 7000+ registrations from 100+ institutions and 25 countries. I formulate and implement training, learning and development strategies, rolling up my sleeves to get things done.
