I am an employee for Department of Health KZN employed as Transport Management Officer at Mfundo Arnold Lushaba CHC in the UGU District. I am responsible for managing the transport section under the Systems component. Among my key performance areas includes ensuring the resources allocated to transport section are utilised efficiently. Also manage the fleet asset register and implementation of transport policies and scrutinise expenditures against transaction reports from the Wesbank. Moreover I have transport staff that is under my supervision. To ensure that the section functions accordingly and provide optimal support to all sections and relevant stake I ensure that correct procedures are followed and our office comply with DOH standards at all times. I have also been appointed and acted as a facility Systems Manager and carried all the duties and responsibilities for the Systems Manager that including managing the grounds, arrangement of office space, switchboard and registry. I have been exposed to the tendering, procurement process and management of contract for service providers.Previously I was employed as Support Services Officer in the District Fleet Management section. My responsibilities included offering administration related support to the Fleet management section for the whole of Ugu Health District. I also assisted in the management of district fleet asset register and implementation of transport policies and scrutiny of expenditures of each sub-district in UGU. Moreover I offered support in monitoring the utilisation of district fleet, and also conduct physical verification of government fleet and assist in identification of vehicles due for disposal while adhering to disposal procedures and policy. I have also worked for Port Shepstone Primary Health Care as an Auxiliary Services Officer where among my duties included facilitating Health Education in schools, communities and coordinating the transportation of staff plus collection of specimens. I have a National Diploma in Computers and Administration attained from Durban College and A+ Certificate from New Horizons Computer Centre in Pietermaritzburg. I am currently studying Bachelor of Public Administration at Mancosa to expand my knowledge and to function effectively in the public administration.
