The plant was under strike when I took over the operation as head of the unit. I contributed in turning around the factory by bringing our people back to what they do the best - produce quality paints in the most efficient way. In the process, we laid the foundation of handling ER-IR in a different way.

I started in Asian Paints in production department and then moved to Projects in 2006. I was instrumental in setting up fully automated polymer manufacturing facility at Chennai.I also handled capacity expansion at Sriperumbudur factory from 50 K to 100K. Then came Rohtak plant - the world's largest Paint facility at a single location. I was heading engineering for the facility. We commissioned the factory in 2010 with Robotics, several kms of conveyors, ASRS, MES etc.During this process, I also got a chance to benchmark against the best factories in paint, beverage and FMCG across the world. We also bench marked our warehouse against modern warehouses run by retail chains. Visited around 100 + factories and warehouses in Europe, USA, South America and South east Asia. Show less
