I’m Sangramjith, a graduate student of Illinois Tech with a masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. So back in 2018, I had an opportunity to come here to the United States as a Research Intern at Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey which was funded by my university back then. The only reason I took it up was that I had a fascination with getting to know different cultures and communicating with them, perks of being an extrovert. Little did I know that that one step I took would make me so intrigued and interested in the world of Machine Learning and its future scopes of it. My internship was based on AI wherein we did vigorous research on AI and built an Emotion Recognition system via Facial geometry at the end. I had always been a good team player but being the leader in that group of 3 gave me some leadership skills as well. Fast Forward 3 years, right now I'm working as a Machine Learning Intern at Instra.Ai and via this internship, I learned a lot about the work culture in the US, some hands-on experience using Machine Learning, Python, AWS services, etc. I’m also the President of the 2nd largest organization of my university i.e. Indian Student Association, where we host formal and informal events like cultural and resume building sessions respectively. I was the VP of Machine Learning Club @IIT during the Fall'21 which keeps my technical side in check as we have symposiums, technical hackathons, and project expos on the same. I've been playing Table Tennis for half a decade now and have represented my college and state on multiple levels. I’m a published writer and a co-founder of a talent-based organization back in my home country. Also, I'm determined to limit myself from overdoing things, I believe it sort of adds on to showing credibility and commitment towards my goal and effective use of time to complete my work before deadlines.
