About Sang Won Choi

My name is Sang, and I hold a Biomedical engineering Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (go blue)! My Ph.D. projects were on 1) developing a brain histotripsy targeting system for mice. I used this platform to 2) study the radiological (MRI) features after histotripsy and 3) the impact of histotripsy on the blood-brain barrier (BBB). My final project involved leading a team of clinicians and engineers to 4) develope a brain histotripsy targeting system for whole-body human cadavers. Here are some of my specific skills:Preclinical MRI imaging, experimental setup, high speed optical imaging, MR sequence parameter optimization, image quality improvement, workflow optimization.Acoustic, CT, and MRI signal processing through using fourier transform, geometric transformation, ray tracing, and some classic image processing methods.I have a wealth of preclinical MRI experience as well as knowledge of neurobiology, ultrasound, and MR physics. Great with scientific communications: 2 first-author publications, 2 submissions in review, 3 co-authored publications, and 5 scientific conference abstracts/presentations.
