Sani Ghose Ray is a film director and producer based out of Kolkata. One of the founder members and directors of the production house Acropoliis Entertainment Pvt. Ltd along with a line production company Greyscale Entertainment. He made his directorial debut with Bonyo Premer Golpo (Hoichoi) and delivered some of the biggest hits in the Bengali OTT space like Swetkali (Zee5), Srikanto(Hoichoi), Jaatishawr(Hoichoi). ShwetKali has been the biggest hit on Bengali Zee5 till date creating new records. He started his entrepreneurial journey with television in 2009. Over the last decade he has produced more than 25 TV serials on channels like Star Jalsha, Zee Bangla and Colors Bangla. He has successfully created some of the iconic characters and shows like Raashi, Agniparikhsha, Bokul Katha, Bodhuboron, Sanjher Bati, Irabatir Chupkotha, Mon Phagun, Gaatchhora, Komola o Shriman Prithhiraj and many more. Produced nonfiction TV programs like ‘Ghosh & Co’ a chat show anchored by Rituparno Ghosh. In his initial days he had worked in different capacities- Executive Producer / Line Producer / Associate Director in some of the well known films like Abohoman, Sunglass, Khela, Sob Charitra Kalponik, Noukadubi directed by Rituparno Ghosh, Raavan by Maniratnam, Tamasha by Imtiaz Ali, etc. Most notably, his production house Acropolis Entertainment, produced Nagarkitan in 2017 directed by Kaushik Ganguly. The film was conferred with four National Awards (Special Jury Awards , Feature Film, best makeup, best costume), at the 65th National Film Awards and the National Film Award for best actor for Riddhi Sen.
