While the company had extensive credentials in Railway Electrification segment till 2009, after I took charge, we expanded operations in all segments of Railway construction, which involved Civil Infrastructure, Track works, Signaling & telecommunication, through associations/partnerships. KEC also secured the first ever Railway projects abroad in Malaysia (Railway Electrification), Kenya (Railway Track & Signaling) and Turkmenistan (Signaling). KEC had also started working on expanding footprints in the Metro Sector.At the time of my joining, Railway unit of KEC had an order booking of 30 crores, and a turnover of 23 crores, only from Railway Electrification. In these five years, KEC achieved a total order booking of INR 1200 crores across all construction segments of Civil Infrastructure, Track works, Signaling & telecommunication, and Electrification. During this five year tenure, KEC executed business of INR 750 crores out of the total orders secured of INR 1200 crores.
